A current report from computer software market G2 pointed to modifications in the software package purchasing course of action and claimed that 1 issue driving the attractiveness of computer software marketplaces was the presence of peer assessments in their consumer interface.

That partnership, crafted on SAS integrations across Microsoft cloud answers for Azure, was meant to permit enterprises to migrate their analytical workloads to the cloud, with Azure as SAS’ desired cloud service provider.

But that desire is not exclusive. Upchurch claimed Viya will be designed obtainable on other marketplaces in the foreseeable future.

“Our analytics and knowledge benchmark investigate shows a slight preference for Microsoft Azure above AWS, which are both of those additional popular that Google Cloud System for analytics and details workloads among the our participants,” he claimed.

Supplying Viya in a pay-as-you-go edition on the market could also be seen as an work to attract smaller sized clients in distinction to its latest consumer foundation of massive banking companies, insurance plan companies, and pharmaceutical and health care companies, claimed Doug Henschen, principal analyst at Constellation Investigation.

“Every firm wishes and demands to catch the attention of new buyers, and this is a obvious exertion by SAS to make it easier for clients to commence little with a little something they can deploy themselves, that’s delivered as a support and that they can spend as component of their cloud account,” Henschen said.

In the commercial software program sector, SAS rivals include Alteryx, Amazon (with SageMaker), Dataiku, Domino Data Labs, Google (with Vertex),, Knime, RapidMiner and TIBCO, claimed Henschen.

“Microsoft also provides co-opetition with both of those Azure Databricks and Azure ML. Another type of opposition arrives from open-resource resources and info science libraries provided by the likes of Anaconda,” Henschen extra.
